Medical Mobile Units
Following on from chest x-ray in the 1950s, many other uses have been found for mobile units. Apart from mammography and dental, bigger systems such as CT scanners have been fitted into articulated trailers in the UK since 1980, and MR followed in 1986.

The process of mobility continues. Now available are Theatre Sterile Services Units, built by Bluebird Vehicles for Atlantic Interim, complete with all the equipment needed to service the operating theatres of a busy acute hospital and Endoscope Disinfection is soon to be on the road.
Bluebird Vehicles’ management team has extensive experience in the design, supply and support of all types of mobile medical units, including an exclusive agreement with one of the world's leading builders, Lamboo. We also offer a comprehensive on-the-road support service to make sure these highly sophisticated and expensive units keep on supplying critical patient care.

A recent delivery was the TB screening van, which will be operated by the University College London Hospital Foundation NHS Trust for London's 32 Primary Care Trusts. This unit will screen up to 300 people a day as a walk in service to combat the growing resurgence of this disease in the capital.
